Parry System
The core defensive mechanic in Phantom Blade Zero. When you see a blue flash before an enemy's attack lands, that's your window to parry.
How to Parry
- • Watch for the blue flash indicator
- • Press L1 (PS5) or Q (PC) just before impact
- • Successful parry staggers the enemy
- • Perfect timing creates a larger window
Benefits
- • Deals posture damage to enemies
- • Creates opening for counterattacks
- • Builds Sha-Chi meter
- • Most efficient way to fight
Ghoststep System
When you see a red flash, use Ghoststep instead of parrying. This dash through attacks cannot be parried.
How to Ghoststep
- • Press R1 (PS5) or E (PC) + direction
- • Dashes through the attack
- • Brief invincibility during dash
- • Ends behind the enemy
Tactical Uses
- • Avoid unblockable attacks
- • Reposition behind enemies
- • Escape crowd situations
- • Chain into counterattacks
Sha-Chi System
Sha-Chi is Phantom Blade Zero's resource system. Build it with light attacks, spend it on devastating heavy attacks.
Building Sha-Chi
- • Light attack combos
- • Successful parries
- • Perfect dodges
- • Breaking enemy posture
Spending Sha-Chi
- • Heavy attacks cost 1-2 bars
- • Special abilities cost 2-3 bars
- • Ultimate attack costs full bar
- • Sha-Chi decays over time
Maximize Damage
- • Build then immediately spend
- • Combo: Parry → Heavy → Special
- • Ultimate at full bar for max DPS
- • Don't let it decay!

Starter Combo
Light → Light → Light → Heavy
Safe opening combo. Ends with knockdown.
Parry Counter
Parry → Heavy → Light → Ghoststep
High damage from parry opening.
Sha-Chi Burst
Build 3 bars → Heavy × 3 → Ultimate
Maximum damage combo.
Ghoststep Mixup
Ghoststep → Backstab → Heavy
